DP Diagnostics, in partnership with Vortek Instruments, developed a patented hybrid vortex and cone DP meter ‘CoVor™ Meter’. Combining two separate physical metering principles into a simple design allows the meters to supplement each other, offer system redundancy, and the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

Oculus applied to CoVor meters utilizes the vortex and cone meters, and advanced DVR has proven statistical mathematics to reduce the flow prediction uncertainty to remarkably low levels.

The CoVor meter is a capable two-phase flow meter, where cross-referencing the two meters provides enough information to produce a total mass flow with gas and liquid ratio prediction, i.e., a gas and liquid flowrate prediction. It is applicable to both saturated steam and wet natural gas flow applications. The CoVor meter in saturated steam service can be mainly a steam quality meter.

Introduced in 2015 after comprehensive R&D, the CoVor mass meter has now been applied by different industries to various applications, such as oil truck loading, oil /water flow monitoring, wet natural gas flow metering, and various saturated steam flow applications.
