Reduced Routine Scheduled Maintenance

Two North Sea platform 4” orifice meters have Prognosis installed (see Figure 1). The Prognosis results show correctly operating meters, e.g. see Figure 2. These results assure the end user that the orifice meter is fully serviceable and does not require maintenance.

The Operator successfully used Prognosis data as part of a justification for reducing maintenance and inspection frequencies relating to both the orifice plates and the DP transmitters as detailed in Table 1. This is a reduction in the associated maintenance activities of 57% overall. The corresponding estimated financial savings is £28,000 per year, every year.
